Hello to every one. I'm going to get the blog done on time this month. To start off with I forgot to tell you something that happened right at the end of May. I youth boy from here named Ricky Isaac had a very bad accident. He was at a trampoline place in Edmonton and landed wrong and broke his cervical spine. At the time had no feeling from his chest down. They flew him to Edmonton where he went into surgery the next day. There they found he had crushed some of the spine but the doctor was able to to some reconstruction. The doctor also said his spinal cord had been pinched. Now last we heard he seems to be getting some feeling back. He can feel lots of tingling and can sometimes tell if someone touches his feet or legs. The doctor said his spinal cord had a healthy bruise on it. He needs lots of prayers as his adopted dad is in a wheel chair and he knows what that is like and doesn't want that for his life. So back to June 1. Heidi had swimming class. The 2nd Kelly and Nigel had doctors appointments. The doctor told us that there isn't much testing that we can do now for Nigel so will have to wait till he is older but no more penicillin! Friday the 3rd was the school program. The play day was the 4th. We where in charge of games. We did some new fun games. First we filled two small wading pools with ice and water and put marbles in the bottom and the students had to use there toes to get 4-5 marbles out. Then we had four lines and the front person had to scoop water out of a tub with a cup and dump it over his head into the next cup and so forth till the bucket at the end was full. Then we had a bunch of donuts on a string and people had to eat them with no hands. The the normal tug of war and only did one race. Then we had filled about 300 water balloons. It was a hot day thankfully! The 5th was my unit friend Ang's wedding. I stayed home from church to listen to it. Kelly had a fire training day so he was gone all day too. The 6th was Heidi's last day of swim class. I worked outside and got my whole garden weeded and tilled. Kelly helped some too. The 7th Kelly had to be at the fire hall at 4 because they had to test hose so the kids and I went there for supper. The 8th I cleaned up the house and in the evening we had a food committee meeting at church because we got asked to help in the kitchen for a funeral on Saturday. The 9th we went to town and it rained ALL day. The 10th I cleaned the house and made cupcakes for the funeral. The 11th was the funeral. We had to been at church by 11 as the funeral started at 2. It was for a old lady who was a member but none of the family was. We took the kids to Verden Reimer's for the day. The 12th was church. We decided to leave for Edmonton right after church because we wanted to spend some time with Ricky. The reason we are going is because we are meeting Errol's in Calgary Monday night because we are getting duel citizenship for our kids. Monday we went to the mall for a bit and then to see Ricky. Ate lunch at the hospital with Kevin and Rosi. Then left for Calgary. Got there just before supper and got checked in to our motel. Met up with Errol's and went to the big mall for supper and more shopping. The 14th our appointments where at 1 and 1:30. In the morning we went to Calgary tower as Errol's had never been there. Then went walking trying to find some lunch. Got the the building and waited. At 12:45 they opened and we had to walk through security and only take what was needed with us. We couldn't talk or make eye contact with anyone. Got to a room with 9 windows to talk to people and some chairs to sit in. We couldn't stand and still no talking. First you got called you to pay for what you where apply for and then you waited till someone called you and you gave them all the information you brought. Then you sat and waited some more and finally you talked to the last person and he said if you got it or not. I didn't have quit enough stuff so he told me what to get and email it to them. So glad to have that over with. Didn't do much in that after that. We where gonna go to the zoo but it was to late. Did a bit more shopping the supper and bed. Then motel we stayed at had a water slid in it to we went swimming every evening too. The 15th we went to the zoo. It was lots of fun. Got to see a baby monkey and a giraffe. Errol's left for SK at noon and we headed for Edmonton soon after. On the way we decided to stop at Innsfail at the Discovery Wildlife Zoo. They have animals that have acted in movies and such. We got there just in time for the last bear show. It was really cool!! Back to Edmonton for the night. The next the 16th we went to Fort Edmonton park in the morning and then to say good bye to Ricky and then headed for home. The 17th Heidi had her first speech appointment in GP. The 18th I mowed lawn and caught up on the house work and laundry. The 19th was church. In the evening we had Del Friesen's and Galen's for supper. The 20th we worked outside and had the family for supper in the evening. The 21st was another work outside day. The 22nd Kelly had his last hep B shot in Beaverlodge. We then loaded up the pickup with trash and took it to the dump. Worked outside some. The 23rd was Marshal's 21st birthday so we had a party for him at a park in the evening. The youth came after church and they played softball. We took pop cans to the recycling in the morning and got $152. The 24th Heidi had speech again in GP. Cleaned house when we got home. The 25th in finished cleaning and made 30 jars of salsa. Kelly took care of the kids so I could get it done. Errol and Emily can for hobo pies for supper. The 26th was church. We got invited to the park for a potluck dinner. The 27th Kelly started the sandbox for the kids. Heidi was very excited. The 28th Kelly finished the sandbox. I'm not sure Heidi will every leave it. She LOVES it. The 29th We had Bevan's and Frank's for a rib supper. The 30th I mowed lawn. We went to folks for supper in the evening. Went we got home Kelly and I put the kids to bed and worked in the garden for a while.
Well not sure what to say about the kids. The speech is really helping Heidi. We go for a total of 6 weeks. Nigel is trying more words every day. One day he did something really funny. I had dropped some eggs on the floor. Nigel came running and said" A Mess" then went running off. He came back with the toilet paper over his shoulder and was running to help. What was so funny was the paper never tore. Well that's all I can think of. Till next time.......
