January 2, 2019

Hello to all and Happy New Year. Hope you are all blessed in the coming year ahead! December 1st was the La Glace Christmas Party at the fire hall. I was going to be a different place but we got some ice and it was to slippery to get in the drive way. I made mini chocolate cupcakes, white chocolate cream puffs, and white chocolate candy cane cheesecake. After you where done we went to Roger and Lisa's because they had Christmas craft sale. The 2nd the Youth had there Christmas program in the evening. We had to be to church early to set up and we decided that us ladies would do fruit trays. They went over really big so think we will do it for the children's program as well. The 3rd I spent to whole day picking up and getting house ready to clean. The 4th I cleaned house. Marshal came for supper. The 5th I packed as we where leaving for Edmonton the next day. The 6th I picked Kelly up at noon in town and we headed for Edmonton. Everyone traveled super well. Now for the big surprise. My folks and really good friends Stuart and Lea all flew to Edmonton to spend a few days with us. We had told Heidi and Nigel that we where going to Edmonton for a few days and instead of staying at a motel we where gonna stay at a house. They had no idea Papa and Nana where gonna be there. We had to stall about 10 minutes to wait for them to get there. We got there and walked up to the door. My folks where standing just inside. Heidi's mouth fell open and she stood there in shock. She so got over it and went running to Nana. Nigel seen Papa and went running to him and then started asking if they had moved to Edmonton. It took Margo just a bit to warm up but soon she was running and climbing stairs and going to sit on Nana's lap. The kids also warmed up to Stuart's really quick. Soon they had two nana's hands to hold. We stayed in the 3 story, 4 bedroom, 2 full bathroom, and 2 half bathroom house. We had a great time and made lots of memories. Dad taught us a new game to play with a pool table and had lots of fun after the kids went to bed playing. We did lots of shopping mostly looking and had lots of good food to eat. Stuart's left us Sunday afternoon and us a folks left Monday. The 11th I spent the day unpacking. We had church in the evening. Kelly had some how put his back out and didn't feel up to going so just I went. It was business meeting. Our turn was up for food committee and we didn't get any new offices. The 12th Heidi had an appointment in Beaverlodge with our family Dr. We had been noticing over the last several months the she has been complaining of her tummy hurting at meal time. We also noticed that it seemed to happen more when she was eating a meal with lots of gluten in it. So around the first of November I called to make an appointment for her. She didn't show any other symptom of a gluten allergy but we felt we should get it checked out. I also started her on probiotics knowing that it might help some. It took a few days to work and then she stopping talking about it. So when I told her dr this she thinks that she is pry sensitive to gluten. She said not to take her off of it but to watch what she's eating and cut back on it. So if she eat two buns when I make them she should only have one and to keep her on probiotics. She gave me papers for blood work and an x-ray if she seems to get worse. She said most often people are sensitive to it and very few are actually allergic. The 14th we went to town for groceries. We left all the kids home at Galen's because Kelly's work Christmas party was in the evening. The 15th we had to run back to town because we needed ribs for Kelly to smoke for Christmas dinner. Of course in true fashion we didn't check Costco hours and they where closed. Marshal had came with us. We also wanted to go out to Evergreen Park for a horse and wagon ride to see the Christmas light display. We first had supper at really good wing place then got all bundled up for a wagon ride. It was fun Margo kept saying oh oh oh. The 17th found us back at Costco to get ribs. Kelly wanted to smoke then this week before Christmas. The 18th I cleaned most of the house. In the evening we went to Hythe to Christmas carol. The 20th was the children's school program. Up here they always have a little time for the preschoolers to have a little song or verse before the school children get up. Heidi and Nigel the song Through my Little Window Peeps a Star. We had to be to church early to set table and cut fruit. It was our last time for food committee for us. So glad to be done but it was fun. The 21st we decided to go to Heart Valley to listen to Amy's program. It was really nice! The 22nd my little girl turned 6! She was so excited! She got to open a few presents and spend the day playing with them. I asked her what she wanted for dinner and she said bologna sandwiches! Of all things to pick! So Kelly took all of the kids to get bologna. While they where gone I decorated her cake. She had been wanting a snowman cake. I found a really cute one of just the face. She wanted a pink hat on it as well. Turned out super cute. The 23rd Kelly's folks came for dinner. Nigel had been complaining off and on all day about his tummy hurting but seemed fine so the 24th when I woke up I asked him how he was. All better after I threw up he said. So I went to look and sure enough it needed to wash his bedding. Kelly only work a half day so we had an early supper and then had our family Christmas. It was lots of fun to see the happy looks on there faces! They didn't get much but they where happy! The 25th we where getting ready to go to church and Nigel was almost ready to eat his breakfast when he leans over to the floor and throws up. I stayed home with him and Margo and he did it one more time that morning. Seemed fine after that and begged for dinner so we let him have some. In the evening we went to folks for supper as Jason's got here that afternoon. The 26th we had Lorne's, Folk's, Jason's, and Marshal for Christmas dinner. We had smoked ribs the week before so that's what we had along with potatoes, veggie casserole, fresh butterhorns, and cheesecake for dessert and for about the very first time I let people help with bring food.  The 27th we where awakened in the night with Nigel say she had threw up again. Sure enough got him cleaned up and back to bed. Woke up in the morning happier then ever. The evening we went to folks for supper and took our left over ribs and potatoes. The 29th we decided to run to town and take advantage of a boxing day sale. I have been saving birthday and Christmas money for a long time for a nice lazy boy chair. Well we went and bought one. Kelly is going to bring it home on Monday. The 30th Heidi came to our room in the night saying she had thrown up so after a quick clean up and bedding change we got her back to bed. I said home from church with her and Margo. I had a to make a few things for lunch because we where invited to Kelly's folks for Mexican. Just Kelly and Nigel went I wanted Heidi to get lots of rest so she would get better. The 31st I did book work and went through some some toys and got rid of some broken ones to make room for Christmas gifts. I also started my dessert for our Christmas dinner with Kelly's family on the 1st.  Kelly only worked half a day so he brought my chair home. I love it and am so excited to use it. Well that is all for this time. I hope 2019 brings lots of happiness to you all. Till next time.......
