October 5
Hello to all. Once again the farming life has been busy. Spent most of the month of September in the field either harvesting or plowing. So that involved for sure two meals sometimes three to the field. Elaine, Mom and I took turns again and each of us was in charge of the main course. Then the rest filled in with salad and dessert. Next year I would like to try something different. We take turns being in charge of the whole meal so that way we can have some nights off. Heidi is growing like a weed she has just learned to crawl. But before that she would roll for a bit then sit up and roll some more to get where she was going then pull herself up and be very pleased about what she had done. We got two kitty's and one got to come in the house some so that was always very neat if she could play with her kitty but now that kitty has disappeared. She also and stood up in the middle of the room twice that I have seen. She weights 18 lbs 13 oz and is around 29 inches long. She fits into 12 month onies but needs 18 month leggings. She is very happy to see her dad come home. If he doesn't come get her right away (like if he goes to wash his hands) she sits on the floor and cries till he comes and gets her. She also loves her dog Abby. If you ask " Where's Abby?" she looks outside and tries to find her. She has a favorite blanket now and just about can't part with it at nap time. If I do manage to sneak away to be washed she is very very very happy to have it back!!!! We had our first snow of the season so to speak on the 2nd of October. It only stayed a few hours but it was a reminder if what it to come. We still have about 300 acres of canola to harvest yet. I like they are hoping to get to it next week. We have had some rain so it is still kinda wet. The 14th is Thanksgiving and we always have a supper at church for neighbors. I have to make 4 loaves of bread and 1 9x13 of sweet potatoes. This year we got to sign up to what we wanted so that is much nicer. Well I hear Heidi waking up form nap. Till next time.......
