December 22, 2017

Hello to all. I had great intentions of getting this done the first of the month but it didn't happen. So here we go. Not much happened the month of November so it shouldn't take me to long. The 2nd we where in town. The 3rd we had to run to Beaverlodge for a few things. The 6th which was my birthday found us back in town for a few things. The 7th Margo had her first shots and the rest of us got the flu shot. Margo did really good. She never got a fever. So that was nice. Flash had to go to vet in the afternoon. Kelly took him. We had been noticing for a while that he had been limping and favoring one front foot. We keep an eye on it and it didn't seem to get better. Well we found out it is normal for this kind of dog. He had two bones in his front leg and the one quits growing which causes him pain and he limps. There isn't much we can do for it and surgery will cost alot and isn't a complete fix. The vet also said the pain isn't anything to worry about. The 9th Margo had an ultrasound because the Dr heard a heart murmur. We did find out a couple of weeks ago that she has a hole in heart upper chamber. We are being sent to a heart Dr to see hoe bad it is but tour family Dr wasn't very worried about it. The 10th we had a birthday supper for me in town with some of the family. The 12th we went to Del Friesen's for dinner and in the evening we took supper to Errol and Emily. They had a little girl named Jenna on the 9th. The 14th I took Margo and we to Beaverlodge hospital for my sugar test to see if I was still diabetic. I passed the test with flying colors and I was very very thankful! The 15th we where in town. The 19th we went singing in Grande Prairie in the afternoon at a rest home. Then we went to folks for supper. The 21st sewing. Right now I can't remember if I went or not. The 22nd I had a pampered chef party in town in the evening. Margo came with me. The 24th and 25th all of us but Heidi and Margo had fevers and Nigel was barfing. Kelly ended up taking him to the ER and 1 in the morning because his fever was so high we couldn't get it down. The 28th I left Margo home with Kelly and went to Beaverlodge for a physio appointment. I have really bad Planter Fasciitis. So I'm going to be doing some physio and see if i cant get it fixed. The 29th Kelly, Heidi, Margo and I went and set up for a Christmas trade show. The 30th was the start of the show but I will write about it next time. Well that is all. We are soon leaving for a 2 week trip to Michigan for Christmas. We are all very excited!! Till next time......

November 21, 2017

Hello to all. Yes I know this is late going up but such is life with a newborn. Right now she is sleeping so i'm gonna try and get this done before she wakes again. Not much has happen because I spent most of my time sitting a either feeding or rocking Margo. She has been my most fussy baby. She sleeps the best when she is held and won't sleep more than 30 minutes when I lay her down. Some days are better than others. She does sleep really good at night so i'm very glad for that. So back to Oct 4. Margo had her 1 month check up so we where in town that day. I don't remember what she weighed but now she is close to 12 pounds. The 9th was our Thanksgiving day. We had supper at church and I took ham and gravy. The 11th  we where in town again. The 12th Kelly had to work. When I say work I mean in GP and with fire stuff. The 13th I had to go to Amanda's house to plan sewing dinners. The 14th Kelly had to work. The 15th Kelly worked again. I braved it and took all three kids to church by my self. Heidi and Nigel sat with Isaac. In the evening Travis and Amanda gave to plan the last program. Bryon and Dawnalee came over and dropped some food off. The 16th Nigel had his 3 year check up. He weighs 32 pounds and is a happy healthy 3 year old boy. We went to town later on that day. The 17th I served sewing dinner. Yes I know i just had a baby but I wanted to get my turn over with. I had made all my food the night before when Kelly could take care of Margo. The 19th Nigel had a hair cut. In the evening we went to Lorne and Mrya's because Grace Fry was there selling fabric. The 24th Kelly, Margo, and I headed for Edmonton around 9 ish in the evening. We left Heidi and Nigel at Kelly's folks. We needed to be in Edmonton at the passport office by 9:00 am the 25th. We stopped in Whitecourt for night about 1:00 and slept for a few hours. Was back on the road by 6:30 and at the passport office in Edmonton shortly after 9. It was there that I discovered I had forgot all the paperwork that I had filled out at home. I had all my over paperwork just not the ones I had to fill out. So after a mini freak out I quick filled out her Canadian passport while we waited in line. Then when we got to the motel I printed out the rest of what I needed. The 26th we had an appointment at 1:00 in Calgary for Margo's US passport. Got it all done and it went really smooth. I had all my paperwork in order so it went quick.  The 27th I had an eye appointment in Edmonton because it has been a year since my eye surgery. I can hardly believe it. I have 20/20 in both eyes. Headed home soon as I was done. Got home later that night. The 28th was Nigel's 3rd birthday! We gave him Lego's for his birthday. In the evening we went to folks for harvest supper. We got Nigel an ice cream cake for dessert. The 30th Margo had an appointment with Dr Clow our family dr. We are trying probiotics ( not sure if it's spelled right) to see if that helps with her fussiness. The dr thinks that her tummy is messed up from the antibiotics that I took when I was sick. It does seem to be helping. She isn't barfing quite as bad but some days she does lots. The 31st we all went to the fire hall for Halloween.  They pass out candy to people when they come by so we went and sat there for a few hours. I help Kelly do a few things and the kids where quite impressed with all the costumes. The that was all for that month. Just a little up date on Heidi and Nigel. Heidi is still Heidi. Not much has changed. She weighs about 38 pounds and is in 5T clothes. Nigel is fully potty trained now except at night.  He is in 3T clothes. He has a few funny things he says one is "you hurt myself" when we accidentally hurt him or bump him. Heidi had a cute on as well. Nigel wasn't listening to her like she thought he should so then she comes to me and says" mom i'm gonna need some help over here" and then proceeds to tell me what was wrong. Well that's all I can think of for this time. Till next time....

October 18, 2017

Hello to all. This is a little bit late going up because we have a baby in our house that takes up a lot of my time! But better late than never and I need to keep up with this so I don’t get so far behind. September 1. We did 3 dozen sweet corn from our garden for the freezer. Then decided to run to town to the farmers market to get some more. The place we wanted to get from was sold out so we can home. I sewed in the evening. The 2nd Kelly and Marshal ran to Dunvagan to get corn for us, Lorne’s, and folks. I got 20 2 cup packages of corn. We went to Errol’s for supper that night. The 3rd Kelly and the kids went to church both times.  After church we went to Galen’s for night lunch. The 4th I mowed lawn and cleaned up outside. At this point I was trying my hardest to get the baby out! We went to folks for supper and I took dessert. The 5th I cleaned house and in the evening, I sprayed round up. The 6th I had to appointments in town so I was trying to get everyone out the door and to Kelly so I could get to them. I was in the car and had forgotten the keys inside I was on my way back in to get them when my water broke! I guess baby girl had decided to come 2 days before she was suppose to! We took Heidi and Nigel to Galen’s and we went to the hospital. My sister Monica flew in to help us out that evening so Glenda picked her up from the airport.  Almost 12 hours after my water broke at 8:44 PM Margo Kendalyn made her entrance into the world. She gave us quite a scare because her heart rate kept dropping but once she was born she was fine. She was 8lbs and was 20 ½ inches long.  We are very happy to have her with us and Heidi and Nigel can’t leave her alone! Kelly came back home for the night because there was no reason for him to stay with me. The 7th he brought Monica, Heidi, and Nigel in to see me. Heidi was very pleased and wanted to hold her all the time. Nigel was more concerned about everything else the hospital room had to offer. They left about 12 and Tony, Mary Jo, Simon, and Molly came for a few minutes. Kelly came back after dinner and held Margo so I could take a nap. We got discharged that night after 9. It was very nice to be back home!  So, from here on out not much happened because you just don’t do much after a baby besides sit and cuddle them. The 8th folks came over in the evening to see Margo. The 10th Galen’s came over to see Margo. The 11th Kelly was in the field so Nigel rode with him for a while. The 12th Isaac’s came over in the evening. The 13th we ran to town for groceries. The 14th we went to Galen’s for supper. The 16th and the 17th Kelly had to work. The 18th I helped Monica clean house and then we went to folks for supper. The 19th Monica left and we where on our own! The 20th we had to run to town again. The 21st we went to Bruce’s for supper. The 22nd I had to be back at church to plan Thanksgiving supper. In the evening we went to folks for supper. The 23rd Anita brought us supper and I got really sick with a sore throat. The 24th I had a bad fever and still had a nasty throat so I went to the ER because I was thinking it was strep. The DR didn’t think it was and told me I would be better in a couple of days. Well it got worse. I had a fever of 40 and I couldn’t get it down. I called Kelly at church and he took me back to the ER and the DR then started me on medicine. The 25th Mary Jo made us soup for supper I was feeing better but still not prefect. Kelly spent a couple of nights on the couch with Margo so I could get some sleep. The 26th I was finally starting to feel better. The 28th we went to town. The 30th Kelly had to work again. The guys were in the field that last week so we had some suppers in the field. Nigel also spent a lot of time with Kelly in the tractor or the combine. My days now are spent taking care of a baby and my 2 other kids. I can only manage to get some laundry done and the dishes and maybe pick up. Hopefully things get easier soon. Till next time…….

September 3, 2017

Hello to all. So I thought I would get this done early in case baby girl comes early. Yes i'm still very pregnant! I still haven't gained any weight and i'm just over 38 weeks. We had a very busy month of August. The 2nd I had an OB appointment and a diabetic appointment so I was in town. The 4th i cut out some dresses. Heidi was sick it was a fever and sore throat. The 5th I sewed and took Heidi to the ER because she was very much complaining of a sore throat so I was worried about Strep. Dr didn't think she had it but tested anyway just to make sure. The 6th I stayed home from church with Heidi because she still wasn't feeling well. I did sew a bit. The 7th I took Heidi back to the ER because she started complaining about her ear hurting. Sure enough she had an ear infection. Then i had just gotten home and the Dr called and said that the test came back positive for Strep. The 8th was the day teachers prep started we are food committee so a busy week for us. I sewed part of the day and then had to be back at church by 4. We served chicken taco salad to the congregation and all the teachers that where out. The 9th we ran to town in the afternoon. I also made my pasta salad for the day's dinner.  The ladies all signed up for meals but each of us food committee took a day to make sure that meals got served on time and such. The 10th I woke up with a bad cold. Not a good start to the day. We food committee served the dinner meal that day. We did hamburgers and pasta salad. The 11th we ran to town in the morning to get our new/used picked. We got a 2014 black ford F150. Basically it was it's the same thing we had just newer. This day was also our day in charge of helping with the meals. We only needed to help with supper. Supper that night was served at 4 because the program was in the evening. We dropped the kids off at Galen's for a few hours. We helped with supper and then got the tables all set and ready for the snacks after the program. Let me tell you I was glad it was over with. I was so tired by that night. The 12th Kelly had a training day in La Glace. I had to go to Beaverlodge to get dinner for them. They had ordered Subway so it just needed picking up.  The 14 i sewed and did the few green beans that where in the garden. Heidi started 2 weeks of swimming lessons in Beaverlodge. The lessons stared at 4:30 and went till 5 Monday to Thursday for 2 weeks. The 15th I made saskatoon jelly. When I took Heidi to swim I got 2 boxes of peaches from a fruit truck and ordered 2 more. The 16th I had an ultrasound in town. I took Heidi with me and then took her to swim. The 17th I had an OB appointment. I was able to get an induction date so now there is an end in view! The 18th I cleaned house and sewed. The 19th Kelly started a 4 day shift working in GP. He gets to come home for night. I sewed and did 16 quart of peaches. The 20th Kelly was working so I took the kids and went to church. The 21st I sewed and took Heidi to swim. The 22nd Heidi had a dentist appointment in GP. We stopped to see Kelly at work. I picked up the peaches i had ordered. Heidi and swim again and Kelly had to work in La Glace in the evening so we stopped and got supper and took it to him. The 23rd I had a diabetic appointment and a NST. We also got groceries. Heidi had swim again. The 24th was Heidi's last day of swim. She did so good this time. She can float on her back and stomach and can put her whole face in the water.  The 25th I made 10 dozen buns for the freezer. One of my friends had a Thirty-one party so I went there in the evening. The 26th I did the rest of the peaches and got 26 quart. We had our first sweet corn from the garden for supper. The 28th we started silage. Flash had to be at the vet at 9 so he could get fixed. Kelly took took him and then later I went and got him. I cut out some dresses for Heidi. I had to go get Flash by 5. I stopped in Sexsmith for supper to take to the field. The 29th we still was doing silage. I took  a salad to the field. The 30th the guys where still the the field. The had a few big break downs so it took more time. I made dessert for supper. The 31st was a big dr day for me. We dropped the kids off at folks before 8 because my first appointment was before 9. I had an ultrasound first and then ad OB appointment after that. Then right from there I had an NST. After all that we got groceries and and a few other stops then headed home. Well that's all for this time! Next you all hear from us we will have had a baby! I'm so ready to had her here now! Till next time......

August 4, 2017

Hello to everyone. Once again its time to sit down and look over that last month. My has it been busy. Lots of things have happened and some stressful times but we are getting through them.  July 1st is our Canada Day. Our little town of Valhalla always has a parade in which Kelly gets to drive fire truck in. Heidi and Nigel had great fun riding and throwing candy to the children. The 2nd we went to folks for diner. Kelly's had has first cousin who isn't in the church and has married a lady who spent years living in Kenya as a missionary. Well there daughter got married a couple of weekends ago the this ladies sisters where still here and wanted to meet our family. They where very interesting to visit with. One is a nurse and had spent all her life helping in Africa. I can't remember which part for sure but other lady was in Kenya for years as a missionary. The one lady's 4 children are all over seas serving in different parts of the world. Makes me wonder why we had such a hard time finding missionaries some times. These people have spent there whole life doing this. The 3rd the kids and I went to Rosi's for a tea party. I came home and tilled the garden. The 4th we had a 4th of July party with some of our American friends. One you will all know is Brian Buerge's. We had 4 couples and 13 kids so our yard was busy! The 5th and 6th I just worked inside cleaning up different rooms of the house. The 6th we had supper in the field because the guys where baling. The 7th we took supper to folks. My oven quit working sometime the last of June so any cooking that has been done has to be done on the green egg. The stove top worked just not the oven. The 8th we went to crooked creek and bought a couple of pails of strawberries. The 9th there was a reception in Crooked Creek so we went to that. The 10 and 11th I once again worked on cleaning up the house. I wanted to have it all done by the time Darren's came because baby comes soon after that. The 11th Kelly started work for Frank up in Rycroft about an hour north of us putting up bins. The 12th I had an appointment with my diabetic Dr. The 13th  I had food committee meeting at church. We are having teachers prep here in August so we needed to get planing some meals. The rest of the week not much happened. Kelly was working for Frank. The 17th was a bad day for us. I will try and explain it as best as I can. It was about 10 in the morning and we had just finished breakfast. I was still sitting at the table when I noticed a lady walk by the window coming to door. For some reason the morning I hadn't pulled my PJ pants when i got out of bed. I had a long shirt one but didn't want to answer the door like that so I stayed sitting. Nigel and Heidi opened the door and the lady asked me if a Tiffany lived here and I said no. Right away something didn't seem right or feel right she wouldn't look at me and keep looking in my house. Then she said a friend of hers from Hythe told her this is where she lived so I said I didn't know all the people along our road and I asked she what directions she had and maybe I could help her. I really could tell at this point she wasn't telling the truth and I started to feel uncomfortable. She pulled some random directions off the top of her head that made no sense at all. I then told her she should go back to Hythe and start over. She said ok I will and then left. I quick got up and went and looked out kitchen window and took note of her walking to the car and I took note of the car. Then i quick went to the living room window because something to me to get a picture of the car because she was gonna be back. I was waiting in the living room for her to leave and nothing was happening so ran back to the kitchen window and her car was still there. Then I sent Heidi to get my pants because I was gonna go outside and see if she needed help. I went back to the living room to wait and then I notice the car driving off. I quick took a picture and was gonna take another one when I noticed our pickup was behind it! I quick ran back to the kitchen and sure enough our pickup was gone. I was mad! I called the RCMP and told them what had happened. They where at my place with in 30 minutes of this all happening. I got all the reports filled out and the only thing I didn't know was the license number. I had been trying to get ahold of Kelly but he wasn't answering his phone. We lost a few things in the pickup. Pry the most important was Kelly's brand new fire gear and 2 pair of $600 boots for fires. Other than that just some other stuff that is replaceable. In the evening we went to folks for supper because Vicky and her kids are out for a couple of weeks. The 18th Flash had another appointment for a booster on his shots.  I cleaned the house good. The RCMP called in the evening and said they had found the car and had a suspect. They wondered if could come in and do a picture pack and try and identify who it was. So the 19th I went to Beaverlodge to do that. It's hard to do those picture packs because it's not the same face who came to the door. I did pick out one that looked the most like her. The had an ultrasound in town in the afternoon. Darren and Lindsey came in the evening! We where very excited to see them! I was the first time that I got to see my niece Kylee.  The 20th I had an OB appointment in town. We all went and had fish tacos for dinner then Lindsey and I left the kids with the dads to take home for naps while we went to my Dr. I looks like I will be having baby about 2 weeks early because i'm on insulin. The 21st the insurance lady came out and i had more paperwork to fill out. We went to Tony's for supper. The 22nd the guys went quading all day so Lindsey, the kids, and I went to town to shop some. The 23rd we went to folks for dinner. In the evening just the guys went to church. The 24th Kelly and I went to town early to look at pickups and Darren's brought all the kids in a we went for a pizza dinner. The 25th we went to Galen's for supper. The 26th Darren's left at 5:30 so Kelly took them back to the airport. I had a Dr appointment later that morning. We had lots of fun with Darren's and the kids had tons of fun playing outside. The 27th I decided it was it was time to start putting food in the freezer for after baby. I made 12 loaves of bread. The part for my oven had came in and Kelly finally had a chance to fix it. The 28th I made a bunch of beef burritos for the freezer. In the evening was the Bible School program. We served donuts for snack instead of finger food. I was a lot easier! The 29th I made a bunch of easy freezer meals. Kelly was gone for the day so it was easy. The 30th we had Travis and Amanda for supper to plan a couple of programs. I did hobo pies outside.  Well that's all for this month. We still haven't heard anything on our pickup. The insurance lady said most likely it was taken to a shop and sold for parts and we will never see it again. Till next time......

July 11, 2017

Hello to all. I know I’m a week behind in writing but better late than never. So back to June. June 2nd, I baked buns and we where in the field for supper. The 3rd I mowed lawn and we had company for supper. I was suppose to make dinner for the fire hall. They where going to do a big training day but it got cancelled. So, I had food made already so we had Lee’s and Clay’s for supper. The 4th we went for Mark’s for dinner. The 5th I tilled the garden and we where in the field for supper. The 7th we where in town for my first Dr. appointment with the diabetic Dr.  He put me on the drug called Metforman because my fasting sugars where so high and to come see him in a week. The 8th I mowed lawn and in the evening, I had a Pampered Chef party. It was for a lady that I did a show for at Christmas last year. I had over $900 in orders this time and even more at Christmas so I like doing parties for her! The 9th we took Isaac’s and Marshal to town for supper to the really good pizza place.  Kelly also started a 4 day shift in GP with fire stuff. The 10th I was back in the ER with Nigel only to find out he still has an ear infection. They put him on the same medicine as last time just gave him 3 double doses. They said it should clear up better this time. We didn’t go to church Sunday because the dr. said he was quite contagious so didn’t want to pass it around. The 12th I made cinnamon rolls for Kelly to take on his last shift. The 13th I had an ultrasound in the afternoon. At my 20 week one they couldn’t see every thing they needed to so I had to go back now. I the evening we as food committee had to serve supper at church to the Counselling Committee. We just did chicken taco salad. The 14th I had another appointment with the diabetic Dr. The 16th I cleaned house good. Nigel had check up with our family dr. to make sure his ears where clear. In the evening was the school program. The 17th was play day. The 18th the family all came over for dinner for Father’s Day. It was very last minute so we had due with the food we had. The 19th we worked outside. The 20th worked outside some more. We are putting up fence around our place because the woods and undergrowth come into the lawn so bad. Also on the 20th we took Flash to the vet. He had never had his shots so we wanted to make sure he was healthy. The 21st we went to folks in the evening. The 22nd Kelly started another 4 day shift. In the evening the whole family went out for supper for Marshal’s birthday. The 23rd I made bread, buns, and cinnamon rolls. Kelly wanted to take cinnamon rolls to the work again. The 24th I mowed lawn. The 25th we woke up to Heidi barfing so we stayed home from church again. The 26th we took our old car that Kelly used to drive before we got the Flex to the Richie Bothers. That is a huge auction sale here. So glad to get it off the yard. The 27th I had an OB appointment. DR. made 3 more ultrasounds for me and told me baby girl was breech and what will happen if she doesn’t flip. Also, I still haven’t gained any weight and am under my pre pregnancy weight. Dr. is happy with that because baby is gaining like normal. The 28th I had another appointment with the diabetic Dr. Yes my life is full of drs now! The still wasn’t happy with the way the pills where working so I am now on 2 insulin shots a day. I was kinda sad about it but after seeing how much better it is to control my sugars I’m ok with it now. Kelly said home with the kids because it has been kinds much for them to keep coming into town. I also had an appointment with a dietitian to help with my diet. She gave me lots of tips and refreshed my memory from last time. The 30th I mowed lawn, cleaned my house, and weeded the WHOLE garden. In the evening we went in town for the fireworks. WE have never been since we have been married. Heidi and Nigel where quite impressed! Here they don’t start till midnight because that’s when it gets dark. So, we didn’t get home till 2 am. Well that’s all for this time. Till next time……

June 6, 2017

Hello to all. So, I guess I’m gonna have to do this differently this time as the internet doesn’t work.  Not sure when I can post this but I’m typing on June 6, 2017.  We had a busy month in May Kelly was gone a lot working so it was just me and the kids.  May 3rd, we went to folks for supper because it was Isaac’s birthday the next day and Kelly was gonna be gone.  Kelly left may 4th for a couple of days. He went up to Peace River to do some fire training. The 5th the kids and I went to folks for supper and then we had cake and ice cream for Isaac’s birthday. Kelly got home on the 6th just before supper. We went to Errol’s for supper that night. The 7th we left for Fort Vermillion. Brother in law Darrell’s parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary so there was a big party Sunday evening. Now normally we wouldn’t have gone to something like this but we bought a puppy from a place about 30 minutes away and we needed to pick it up. We stayed at Kelly’s cousin Danny and Tara’s place.  Monday, we picked up our puppy and headed home. We now have a little Basset Hound named Flash at our house. He is very cute and gets into lots of things. The kids love him but don’t like it when he bites. Can’t say that I blame them because it does hurt. Isaac came home with us because we left before everyone else and he needed to get home to work. Folks and Issac's had went up also because Darrell and Vicky where there. We all come home the 8th and went to Tony’s for supper with Darrell’s. The 9th Kelly went and got us 10 chickens. We got them for $2 a piece from a local Huderite Colony. The kids are very excited and we hope to get lots of eggs. So far, we get any where from 3 to 5 a day and hope as their feathers start to come back we can get more.  The 10th Kelly helped out in the field. The 11th he was in the field again. He was in a tractor with no AC so the kids couldn’t go ride. The 12th I baked bread and we went and got flowers. Kelly came with because it was raining. I also started cleaning. The 13th I finished cleaning and make food for Sunday dinner. The 14th was Mother’s Day and we had Galen’s, Folks, and Isaac’s for dinner.  The 15th Kelly left about 12 and was gone all week.  The 16th I mowed lawn for the first time in the morning I went to the walk-in clinic because my allergy’s where bothering me so bad that my whole body itched and I couldn’t quit sneezing.  The DR told me I could go back on my allergy medicine which was very nice. The 17th we went to town for groceries. The 18th I cleaned the kids room and took out all the winter clothes and hung up there summer clothes. The 19th Kelly got home supper early in the morning so the kids where really surprised to see him. I planted flowers and we tilled the garden and ran to town.  The 20th I mowed the lawn and we planted garden in the evening before supper and didn’t get done till 10 or so. The 21st we had Kevin’s and Errol’s in the evening for snacks around the fire. The 22nd I finished with taking out all the winter clothes sorting them and putting away what I wanted to keep and the rest Heather came and got and is sending to Haiti.  The 23rd I mowed lawn again. The 24th I woke up early and went to the Hospital in Beaverlodge to do my 3-hour sugar test. Our closest Lab is in the hospital if any one was wondering. The 25th we where in town again. Kelly had some errands to ran and wanted to know if we wanted to ride along. I called the DR and she said that I didn’t pass my sugar test so I guess that means I have Gestational Diabetes again. I wasn’t happy and wanted to cry but not much I can do about it but eat healthy which I was trying to do.  The 26th Heidi’s friend Hannah came and spent the day because her folks went on a field trip. I painted the dresser for the baby’s room. And did some cleaning. Kelly started a 5 day shift of you call it that in Grand Prairie. He is helping train people for 5 days.  The 28th Isaac’s come over after church for a fire. The 29th the kids and I spent all day sorting bottles to take to the bottle depot. We take our bottles back once a year. Nigel was sick also. Woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and barfed once.  The 30th the kids and I took the bottles back and went to GP to have lunch with Kelly. Nigel barfed in the pickup when we got to the bottle depot. I had thought enough to bring and extra change of clothes for him. The 31st we where in town again for a DR appointment. Got groceries and a few other errands. Nigel was still not feeling well and in fact worse but Kelly couldn’t stay home with home because he had some business to do. So, Nigel and Kelly spent most of the time in the car. I took him in to the ER in the evening and found out he had a double ear infection. They put him on medicine and the next morning he felt much better.  Well that is all for this month. Till next time……

May 2, 2017

Hello to all once again. We have had some very sunny and warm spring days after getting a couple feet of wet snow in April. The snow in our yard is almost gone so that means its been gone everywhere else for a while. We are so sheltered at our place that it takes a while to leave. So back to the first of April. April 1 and 2 where home show days for me. I didn't do to bad but I don't think I will do it again. Not enough people buying gifts like I get at Christmas time. I did get a couple of people wanting shows though so that's nice. The 4th I went to Beaverlodge for a blood sugar test to see if I have GD this time. The 7th was Kelly's birthday so we went out of supper for that and our anniversary that's in a few days. The kids stayed with Heather. Also did our grocery shopping. I forgot how nice it is to shop with out kids! The 9th we had Galen's and Issac's for the evening. The 10th Heidi had a speech appointment in town. The therapist wanted to see where she was at and if she need more. She passed with flying colors!! We where very happy with that. She still had trouble with some words but the therapist said it's totally normal till she gets older and to help her with them at home. The 13th I did some cleaning. The 14th was Good Friday and we always have church in the morning here. We went to folks for dinner and I made a salad. The 16th was Easter and we went to Galen's for dinner. In the afternoon Kelly got a fire call saying that 10 horses had fallen through the ice in a dugout. The La Glace fire station is the only station in the county trained for this sort of recuse. Each fire hall in the county has there own special training in different areas. The caption of La Glace was on holidays so Kelly's new promotion got put into practice. There where 4 different fire stations called out and Search and Recuse out of Grande Prairie. They where able to same 7 out of the 10 so they did really good. These horses where wild broncing horses so that made there work even harder. If you want more details you will have call as there is to much to write. The 17th we ran to town. The 19th the cleaned up the house a little and Travis and Amanda came for the evening to plan program. The 20th I made buns. The 22nd and 23rd Kelly had fire training in GP. The 24th Lorne and Elaine had their third little boy Joseph Grant he joins Lenny who turned 4 on the 26th and Rylan who will be 3 in July. The had a Dr appointment in the morning. Baby sounded happy. I had found out a couple weeks before that I had not passed my sugar test so the DR wanted me to do the second test. I am way to sick in the mornings to fast for 8 hours so she was fine with me following the GD diet till i feel better to go take the test. I haven't gained any weight yet and even lost some weight and haven't gained that back. We went to town for groceries. The 27th was my 20 week ultrasound. We got to fins out what we are having. It's another little girl. Heidi is very excited as she has been quit certain that it was a girl. We took supper to Lorne's in the evening, The 28th Kelly started working in the barn getting ready for chickens. We are getting about 5 year old chickens for the summer and will sell them in the fall. Heidi and Nigel are pretty excited. I also cleaned house. The 29 Kelly worked the barn again. There was a big event happening in La Glace so Kelly had to be at the fire hall at 12 so we took him lunch and ate with, him. Walked around a bit with the kids then I brought them home for naps. I guess La Glace won a contest and a quit well known country singer did a concert in La Glace and the Fire hall was the first aid place so Kelly had to been there till it was over. The kids and I went back after naps and i took Heidi's bike and Nigel's little car and them rode them around the fire hall. We ate supper with Kelly and went to the concert for a bit and I have to say I don't think i ever need to got one again. Way to much drinking and it was so loud! Kelly said I left before the drinking got bad so i's glad i didn't see that. Just as we where leaving we where talking with another Fire member and we all noticed a car smoking right by the fire hall. Sure enough it was on fire. The kids and I watched a bit then headed home to bed. Kelly didn't get home till after 2:30 in the morning. The 30th was church and int he evening about supper time Kelly go another fire call about a house on fire. So later on the kids and I went to check it out. It had spread so a couple of other buildings and barn and then out to a field. He didn't get home till 4 that morning.  Another thing I forgot to say was sometime in the last week Kelly was called to another horses recuse and this horse was draft horse that was stuck in the mud and to more he tried to get out the deeper he sank. They did get home out with little to no injury. Well that is all for this month. The kids are loving to be outside playing and i'm glad but now my house is full of dirt and mud and sand. Oh well they are happy so I will jsut have to haul my sweeper out more often. Till next time.......

April 4, 2017

Hello to all from sunny Alberta. The snow is finally leaving us and it's getting a bit warm outside. Our little creek that runs by our back porch is really full the kids love watching the water. So far we have kept them out of it. I can get a little deep some places where it runs over the banks. By now is down a lot and we can hear it running over the rocks we put down. March started right off with revival meetings. We had Maynard Koehn from Burns and Kelly Penner from Norquay. We had 4 open sermons and 6 council meetings and for the first time that I know of we didn't have any invitations. We finished with communion on Sunday the 12 in the evening.  One day in there we went to town for groceries and couple of days later to buy a bunk bed for Heidi and Nigel. Got them set up in Nigel's room. We sold the mattress that Heidi was sleeping on so now we have no guest bed. The baby's room with be in the office where Heidi was sleeping. If we had guests and need a mattress we have one in storage we can use. The 13th I cleaned our room and the bathroom. The 14th was sewing and I don't think I had been to any yet. The 15th Kelly took Nigel to get a hair cut because he had take the trimmer to him hair and it needed fixing up. I did book work. The 16th I did book work. Trying to get everything done for taxes. The 17th I did book work again. The 18th I cleaned the house. The 21st there was sewing again. I had a Dr appointment in the the morning so I took Heidi to sewing for Kelly's mom to watch and Nigel came with me. The Dr put me on stronger meds for my morning sickness but the side effects aren't good. So I have decided in the mornings if i'm gonna take the stronger meds and have the side effects or the other ones with no side effect but i'm sick and barfing.  The 22nd we left for Edmonton because Kelly had another test to try and get into EMT school. We went to the guest house singing that night because my house parents that I had where bak at the unit house as house parents again. It was lots of fun visiting with them and telling stories. The 24th we got home from Edmonton and stopped in GP for some groceries. Kelly didn't get into school again and we had decided that this time was the last time to try. So now to decided what to do and how to do it. He did get a promotion at the fire hall to lieutenant Fire fighter. That comes with a raise in pay and more hours and second in command next to the captain. He is very excited about it. He also has been busy in the machining shop and is dreaming of ways to get more work. He has been given a few ideas and is working on them. The 25th Kelly and I made pizzas at folks house for the whole family. I was fun but a bit of work also. The 28th one of Heidi's youth girl friends came over for the day he mom and dad both work and her older sister had to work that day so her mom didn't want her home by herself all day. She made a couple batches for cookie dough to put in the freezer for me so that was nice. I was having a very bad day so i was glad she could help with the kids. The 29th Grace Fry from ON came with all her fabric to Lorne and Myra's shop so I set up a little table with my stuff on it. I had it all packed up because I had a trade show coming up so I didn't have much. The 30th Kelly and I left the kids at folks with Heather and went and set up for the trade show. The 31st was the start of the show and it ran till the 2nd of April. Well I will tell you more about that next time. Hopefully my morning sickness soon starts to get better it is the worse this time around and it makes it hard to do normal things around the house. Kelly has helped a lot by taking the kids with him when it works and helping me at home. Till next time.....

March 2, 2017

Hello to all! Well as you all have pry heard by now we are having another baby in our family! We are very excited and can't wait till September to meet this little one. So I have been quite sick like normal. I guess I should know by now that I won't be like my mom or sister and not get sick. There might not be to much to write about because I have been spending my time in my bed or the couch and only getting out when I have to. The 2nd I stayed home for church with Nigel because he wasn't feeling well. The 3rd Kelly took Nigel with him to town and Heidi and I ran to Beaverlodge for dinner. I did get some buns made also. The 4th I cleaned the house. The 7th we had a town day. The 9th was a very scary evening for us. Heidi wasn't wanting to eat her supper and she was complaining that her head hurt. So I gave her some medicine and we told her to go lay on the couch for a bit. She was asleep within minutes and  I knew something wasn't right because that is not like her. We where getting around for church and she woke up crying saying her head hurt and her eyes hurt because the light was so bright. If any of you have ever then to our house you know that we don't have many lights in our living room. So we shut the lights of and she was still crying about her head and the lights. By this time the medicine had been in her an hour and didn't seem to be helping. I called the nurse hotline and they told us to get to an ER right away because it could be pretty serious. By this time she was barfing. So we rushed her in and while we where waiting to be seen she barfed a couple more times. They told us it was mostly likely a migraine. They said it doesn't happen real often in small children but it can if they are getting sick. So glad to know it wasn't anything life threatening. The 10th Kelly had a course in GP. In the evening we went to folks for supper to be with Isaac before he left for Haiti. He finally got to much awaited call for his papers but he has to be in Haiti to get them. The 11th Kelly was at his course. The 12th Kelly again at his course. We had potluck at church for dinner and we are food committee so I needed to be there. The technology committee came and gave us to talks. They where very interesting. The 13th Kelly headed to Edmonton to get some wood he had ordered. He was home by night time. The 18th Kelly took all of us to GP for supper. The 21st Heidi had a teeth cleaning and I wanted them to look at my filling I done a long time ago that was still bothering me. Turns out that I need a root canal and those things are not cheap. Thankfully I had just gotten Alberta Health Benefits which might cover it but I won't know for a few more weeks. I had my first DR appointment in the afternoon. The 22nd I went and did my blood work and Kelly had some to do to. The 24th was my first ultrasound. We got to see one very happy baby with  a heartbeat in the 150s. I came home and started sewing some dresses. The 25th I sewed. The 26th we went to Lorne Toews' for dinner had church in the evening. Well that is all the news for this month.  Isaac did get his papers and now can work in Canada. I think he has Permanent Residence like I do. If so he has to live in Canada 3 out 5 years. He plans to come back here the first part of March. Not much new to tell about the kids. They are very excited about the new baby and wonder why mommy's tummy is always sick. Till next time......

February 13, 2017

Hello to all. Our new year started off with a trip to the ER Sunday morning with Nigel. He had been sick and having some ear trouble but when we had him in earlier they told us his ear was just plugged. Well early that morning he woke up with a fever again so we took him in. He had a perforated ear drum. So finally he can get better. He is allergic to anything with penicillin in it so the dr told us it might take a few different meds to heal it. Thankfully the first one we tried worked. The 2nd I cleaned the house good.   The 3rd I had to make dessert for sewing dinner and we went to town. I didn't stay at sewing I just dropped my stuff off. There was council meeting in the evening and after church Travis and Amanda came over to plan program. They are the new people we are on with. The 4th my friend that teaches away was still home on Christmas break came over for dinner and the afternoon. She brought her sister and one of her friends that was visiting. I made food for a family that just had a baby and one for a family who is having one with in a week. We had to quick run into town in the PM. The 6th I cleaned the house. The 7th Kelly worked a shift at the fire station in town so he was gone from 7 to 7. He is starting that now when he isn't busy in the shop. The 8th we had company for supper. I often make chicken taco salad for Sunday night suppers. It's very easy and everyone likes it. The 9th Heidi and Nigel had follow up appointment with our dr. We sat in the waiting room for about 2 hours only to find out she had been called to the hospital for and emergency and had to call another dr to help her. So I could have waiting for her to get back but I just rescheduled. So the 10th found us back at the dr. Nigel's ear was cleared up and the dr earlier had heard a heart mummer on Heidi so my dr listened and decided to send her for an ultrasound. We ran to town after the appointments. The 11th Galen's called and wanted to meet us at the Merc for supper. They are open now a few evenings for supper a week. The 13th Kelly worked another shift again and I cleaned house. The 15th we had supper company again. This time I made Mexican Pot Roast. The 16th we took the leftovers from Sunday night supper to Clay's for supper. The 17th we where in town. The 18th I cleaned up the house. Kelly was at the fire station in town talking with a paramedic he knows quite well about going to school. The 19th I started doing book work so we can do taxes. The 20th I cleaned house. In the evening we went to Travis' to plan program. The 22nd we went to Lorne's for dinner and after church to Clay's to practice a song that we as a family are singing at a neighbor mans funeral. Issac and Heather are staying with Ricky while his folks are gone. He doesn't need a lot of care and can do most of it on his own but he just needs someone there to help if he needs. The 23rd was the funeral in the afternoon. The kids stayed home and had naps and one of the youth girls that is Heidi's friend came and watched them. Took Kelly to the ER in the evening. He had something to his eye and it was all red. He wondered if you got a metal chip in it. Thankfully nothing was wrong.  The 25th I took Nigel to the neighbor lady for a haircut. The 26th was Heidi's ultrasound in town. Kelly had a course so I had both kids with me. The 27th I cleaned the house. The 29th we had Steve and Kate from Silver Valley for dinner along with Errol's. Steve was had been a minister for a couple of years now and we wanted to hear him preach. Well that is all the news. Nigel's potty training fell by the wayside over Christmas so I need to get back with it now.   Heidi is very excited about Sunday School and is always ready to learn her verse. She loves to call Nana and tell it to her. Well that is all for this time. Till next time.....

Hello to everyone. I know this is going up later than normal but life got in the way. You all know how that is. So to start off in December I had a Christmas show in Grande Prairie for 3 day. I was very busy and sold most of my stuff and got alot of orders. The 3rd was La Glace fire Christmas party. They always do a big supper and and gifts for the kids. The 8th I had a house party in GP.  The total order the I sent in was over $1800. I don't get that much but it did make my commission go up so happy with that. The 9th I cleaned house. The 10th was my last show for the year. I did one in La Glace. It was very slow I didn't sell anything. It was very cold out so that might have been why. The 11th we went to folks for dinner. The 15th we where in town I had lots of ordered to deliver so we left the kids at folks place with Heather. We went to folks for supper. The 16th I cleaned house. It was also the school program. The 17th I finished cleaning and we went to folks for supper for mom's birthday. The 18th we met Galen's in town for supper and then went on a horse and wagon ride. Every year they a have Christmas light show that you can go see and you can either take your car through or ride on a horse and wagon. The kids really like it. The 19th we where in town again and again to folks for supper. The 22nd my little girl turned 4!!! She thinks she is so big now! We got her a doll house for her birthday. In the evening we went caroling. We just walked around Hythe and sang to who ever was home. It didn't matter if any body knew them. We took the sled so Kelly pulled the kids. The 23rd I had to go to town to drop one last order off. Came home and made Heidi her birthday cake. She wanted a Fox cake so that's what I did! Took it to folks for supper. Verden's came in the evening for cake and ice cream. They have a youth girl that is one of Heidi's friends. The 25th we where at folks for dinner and supper. Darrell's got there in the evening. Jason's had gotten there about a week before. The 26th we where at folk for supper. The 27th was our family Christmas at folks. It was the first time since we have been married that we have all been together for Christmas. The 28th Kelly did brisket for supper at folks. The 29th I cleaned the house and we went to folks for supper. I made bread and tea for a big Isaac deal the next day. Heather made Haitian for supper. It was very good again. The 30th was the big Isaac Christmas at school. I brought the kids home for nap. We just got home and Kelly got a fire call to a house trailer burning in Valhalla. We went back to school for supper. The 31st most of the guys went fishing and caught alot of fish. Vicky, Mom, and Heather came for dinner. Well that's the months news. Heidi is very happy to be four. She very proudly marches off to Sunday School thinking she is very big girl. Nigel is getting so big. He loves to sing and talk. He plays really good with Heidi. He eats like a true boy about twice as much as Heidi does. He loves dessert and Heidi doesn't eat much dessert. He loves going any where with his dad in the pickup if they go in the car he cries. Heidi likes to stay home and help me. She gets to do dishes once in while and helps dry so she thinks she is big. Well that's all for this time. Till next time.....
