Hello to all! It has been a long time since I have posted anything
but for good reason which I will explain in this Christmas letter! First, I want
to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas from our house to yours. As I was
asking Heidi and Nigel if they knew about the Christmas story the other morning
and in their way of telling it I was humbled at the thought of our Lord and Savior
being born in a barn and yet he came to do go something so great as to save us all.
Each year it seems a different part of the Christmas story impresses me and
this was my little impression this year. Now on to a little about our year. Don’t
remember to much about the first part of the year. Kelly was busy working at
Risley Steel in Grande Prairie. In March we (I think) found out a good friend
of ours was getting Married in Michigan! We had been talking of going to Michigan
and so point in the summer away and thought maybe this was a good time! So, tickets
where bought the excitement began. In April our big girl Heidi started Kindergarten.
She was ever so excited! School was 5 weeks long 3 days a week. The end on May beginning
of June My little sister Sam called and told me she was getting married in
August! So back to Michigan for her wedding! Our friend Wynn’s wedding was in
June so we headed to that. Had lots of fun with family and friends! After visiting
with friends and sharing some of our thought it was brought up on different occasions
that maybe we should move. While this has never been and new thought to us, we just
where not sure if this was the right time. Can we afford it? What about our
house and land? Where would we move to? What about our little family? Would we
be about to find work? Many questions flood our minds. Decided to do a lot of praying. We always have
had a place in mind but are we sure it’s the Lord’s leading? Came home from that
trip with lots of thinking and praying to do. The rest of the summer was fairly
quite prepping for Sam’s wedding and then Kelly’s brother Marshal told us that
he too was getting married!! Very exciting time! Tickets where bought for Sam’s
wedding and it seemed the door opened for us to spend a few extra days with
Kelly’s sister in Hesson ON. A place that has always been on our mind if should
ever move. Sam married Henry Yost from Living Hope Kansas in August. We had a
great time at the wedding made a lot of fun memories and new friends! Back at
Hesson after the wedding and we felt the door opening for us to move. Kelly
found a job the day before we left and all that was left was a place to live and
a moving date. Back to Hythe to get ready for Marshals wedding and moving. We decided
to move the first week of October. Heidi started grade 1 in September and was
very excited. Marshal married Amy from Hythe the end of September. Kelly quit
work about then as well and we where busy packing and making arrangements for
our house to be rented moving trucks. We found a great renter for our house. Brother
in law Darrell drove our pickup and trailer we bought for us and after a bit of
a break down made it safe and sound. I drove our car with 2 children and Kelly drove
the uhaul with our dog and another child. We did it 55 hours. That was driving
time and included stopping for gas and food. We spend one night at my cousin’s
in rosewood. The rest in motels along the way. My folks came to help us unpack
for a day and then we started to settle in. Heidi started her new school a day
or so after we moved and settled in really quickly. So now we call Hesson our
home and have been enjoying our new life. Kelly works as a machinist in a town
about 10 minutes from our house. We are living in a little house we are renting
till June in Listowel. Hopefully next year we can buy a house but if not, we
will find something else to rent. Well I think that is all! I will start posting
on here again in January. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Love Kelly, Kristen, Heidi (7) , Nigel (5), Margo (2)
